01 / Vacations book a 2027 North American run with Twen
Australian indie-rock band Vacations will take Pursuit of Anything across North America next year, with Twen joining them throughout. The 26-date run opens at Miami Beach Bandshell on February 17, 2027, and finishes at Seattle’s Moore Theatre on March 27. Canadian stops are Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall on March 2 and Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on March 26.
Tickets go on sale October 9 at 10 a.m. local time. Campbell Burns wrote “Lucky, Forever” after attending the weddings of bandmates Jake Johnson and Joseph Van Lier, trying to imagine a love song from their perspective, according to Nettwerk’s announcement.
02 / Kontravoid joins Boy Harsher bills, then heads out with Spike Hellis
Cameron Findlay’s electronic project Kontravoid has European shows lined up for November and December. Side-Line reports an opening stretch with Boy Harsher and Choir Boy, followed by a Helsinki festival appearance, headline dates and a December run with Spike Hellis.
The three-act bill is confirmed at Docks in Lausanne on November 18. The reported December itinerary with Spike Hellis starts in Rotterdam on December 5 and ends with Warsaw, Kraków and Poznań on December 11–13.
03 / Death Strip connect Gotland and Hastings on “Flash Back”
Death Strip’s Jonas Moberg and Culture Yob once lived in neighbouring Shoreditch warehouse flats and shared a goods lift. They now make music from Gotland, Sweden, and Hastings, England. Their fourth single, “Flash Back,” is scheduled for October 8, according to Side-Line.
They write and record Death Strip’s songs remotely. Moberg previously drummed in Jumper and played live with Paloma Faith; Culture Yob also works under the name Son of Daughter. The single is due on the duo’s Bandcamp and Spotify pages.
04 / Ecce Shnak take new material on a November tour
New York art-rock band Ecce Shnak have announced nine East Coast and Canadian dates for November 11–20. The itinerary runs from Hamden, Connecticut, to Baltimore, with Montreal on November 15 and Toronto’s Dance Cave on November 17.
The shows will preview Dandy Variances, planned for early 2027. Current single “Anna O” began with a poem by Robin Kneubuhl, the mother of composer and bassist David Roush, according to the tour announcement.
05 / Small Pond’s missed rehearsal becomes “Everything’s Quiet”
Small Pond’s new single “Everything’s Quiet” began while singer Molly McDevitt was ill and missed rehearsal: guitarist Ian Howard started working on a picking pattern in her absence. The Maine band’s second album, Soft Burn, is due October 21, 2026. The new song follows the earlier single “Silver Coin.”
Alex Farrar produced the record at Drop of Sun Studios. The band recall making the journey twice, spending 14 hours each way squeezed into Joe Murphy’s car, in an account published by That Eric Alper. They say the album took shape without a preset concept, with songs written at different points between recording sessions.
06 / Martin Saint returns to “Endless Bridge,” first released with Citylake
Montreal songwriter Martin Saint has revisited “Endless Bridge,” a song he originally released with Citylake in 2017. He later fronted The Ember Glows, who parted ways in 2024, and released his solo album Seekers in 2025. The new recording arrived October 6.
Saint calls the song “about as close to a love song as I’ll ever get.” He co-produced the recording with drummer Frank Bones across three Montreal studios, joined by Julie Abel on piano and Jack Vignavong on bass.
He has also published Under The Full Angry Moon, collecting lyrics, short poems and his drawings. QR codes connect the pages to recordings. Work on another album is underway for 2027.
